Terry McCrann is among Australia's leading business journalists. His columns appear in major Australian newspapers and business commentary on national television.

McCrann graduated with honours in economics from Monash University before entering into a career in journalism. His positions have included Finance Editor for the Sun and National Times newspapers and Business Editor of The Age. He is now most recognised for his national business column, which appears in newspapers such as Melbourne's Herald Sun, Sydney's Daily Telegraph, Brisbane's Courier Mail and The Weekend Australian.

McCrann has provided expert analysis and commentary on critical business issues and controversies. For almost 20 years he gave comment on the Business Sunday programme.

In 2002 he received the highly esteemed Walkley Award for Financial Journalism for his coverage of the Ansett collapse. McCrann's contribution to business journalism has been recognised through numerous other awards. He was Financial Journalist of the Year in 1979 and Graham Perkin Journalist of the Year in 1987. He was also winner of the Melbourne Press Club's Golden Quill Award in 1995 and 2002.


Melbourne Grammar School marked its sesquicentenary in 2008. As part of the celebrations, a Talents Committed Exhibition was staged. This exhibition recognised 150 Old Melburnians who have made a difference to the City of Melbourne, the State of Victoria and the wider community in Australia and overseas.
