Senior School learning extends well beyond classroom and campus boundaries. By offering global experiences, we seek to broaden students’ understanding of their place in the wider world. These are also opportunities to further develop leadership, autonomy, resilience and the ability to understand new perspectives and cultures.
Values in Action program
Some strands of our Values in Action program operate overseas. For example, each year students travel to Vietnam, participating in immersive projects and contributing support that meets the true needs of the local community.
As well as expanding students’ understanding of philanthropic action, these overseas experiences offer moments that challenge their preconceptions and deepen their knowledge of themselves.
Orchestral and sporting tours
International orchestral and sporting tours are regular fixtures on our Senior School calendar each year. The Melbourne Grammar School Symphony Orchestra has performed in St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, the Teatro Goldoni in Venice and the Okuma Auditorium in Japan.
Overseas sporting tours have included rugby competitions in New Zealand, South Africa and the UK, cricket matches in England and water polo tours to the USA.
Connections for international study
For those students aiming to participate in overseas exchange programs or find employment outside Australia after graduation, our Career Development department offers expert guidance on applications and scholarship opportunities.
We are also able to offer direct contact with representatives from overseas universities such as Harvard, Stanford and University College London through on-campus careers events, along with the knowledge and expertise of our extended alumni community.
