Our Indigenous Program includes initiatives that increase understanding and engagement between the Melbourne Grammar School community and Indigenous Australians. Central to this program is our desire to create a culturally safe space for Indigenous students.
The Melbourne Grammar School Indigenous Strategy, developed in 2019 by the Indigenous Program Steering Committee, explains the aims of the Program, namely that our Indigenous students experience a sense of belonging at the School, and all students value and respect Indigenous culture.
We are also interested in contributing to a national conversation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians through activities including Reconciliation Week, participation in the Garma Festival in North East Arnhem Land, and the inclusion of Indigenous emblems and artwork across our campuses.
Indigenous bursaries are also available to support the education of Indigenous students at the School.
