Melbourne Grammar School celebrates the exemplary VCE achievements of the Class of 2024, exemplifying the School’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence.

We extend special congratulations to the three students, who attained the top possible ATAR of 99.95, a distinction achieved by only 41 students in the State:

  • Albert Chen
  • Alex Kartel
  • Sanjeet Sampath

In addition, a total number of 22 students earned an ATAR of 99 or above, placing them in the top 1% in Victoria.

These results represent the talent, perseverance and dedication shown by the Class of 2024 during their time at the School. This cohort’s exceptional focus on their studies, coupled with their consistent effort, have led to these remarkable outcomes. Accordingly, we acknowledge and celebrate all the students who have worked diligently to achieve personal bests.

The diversity of academic excellence within this year’s cohort is equally noteworthy. Sixteen students achieved perfect study scores of 50 across various subjects, showcasing the breadth of their capabilities. These subjects include Biology, Chemistry (2 students), Classical Studies, English (4 students), Japanese as a Second Language, Legal Studies, Mathematical Methods (5 students), Physical Education (2 students).

Yet, the accomplishments of the Class of 2024 extend far beyond their academic achievements. They have embraced the many opportunities available at Melbourne Grammar, excelling on the stage, the sports field, the rostrum, and in numerous other arenas. Their holistic engagement with School life reflects their enthusiasm, determination, and versatility.

What truly sets this cohort apart, however, is their embodiment of Melbourne Grammar’s values. Through their actions, they have demonstrated integrity, respect, and compassion, leaving a lasting and positive impact on the School community. Their commitment to fostering a strong and inclusive culture is both admirable and inspiring.

I would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated teachers, who have guided and supported these students from their earliest days at Grimwade House through to their final year. Their expertise, care, and encouragement have been vital to the achievements we celebrate today.

While these VCE results are a significant milestone for many, they are only one measure of success. The qualities that truly define the Class of 2024—their work ethic, character, and relationships—will shape their futures far more profoundly than any number.

Thank you to the Class of 2024 for your many meaningful contributions to Melbourne Grammar. I wish you every success as you embark on the next chapter of your lives, confident that you will continue to make a positive impact on the world around you.
