Melbourne Grammar School students have achieved exceptional VCE results again this year, continuing the School’s legacy of academic excellence.
Congratulations to the following students who achieved an ATAR of 99.95:
- Alex Gao
- Jerry Hui
- Jaden Taveira
We also recognise the 24 other students who achieved an ATAR of 99 or more. This places an impressive 14% of our cohort within the State's top 1%.
Well done to all students who have been steadfast in their learning throughout their time at Melbourne Grammar, and who have attained their own personal best ATAR.
The breadth of success across VCE subjects is testament to their wide range of academic talents, with 16 students obtaining perfect scores of 50 in one or more subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English (2 students), English as an Additional Language, General Mathematics, Geography, History: Revolutions, Legal Studies, Mathematical Methods (2 students), Philosophy (2 students), Physical Education (4 students) and Physics.
In addition, the Class of 2023 has achieved success on the stage, the rostrum, the sporting field and more. We offer a holistic education at Melbourne Grammar School, and they have seized upon the opportunities available to them with enthusiasm, energy, and excitement.
I would also like to pay tribute to the exceptional teachers who have guided each student’s learning throughout their time at the School, albeit during their early years at Grimwade House through to this pivotal year.
Of course, there are many measures of success, and an ATAR is only one of them. The truly wise know that life is more than a score on a piece of paper and ultimately an individual’s values, work ethic and quality of their relationships will be far greater determinants of their future achievements and happiness.
It has been an absolute delight to accompany this remarkable group of students during our shared journey at Melbourne Grammar. I know they will take the lessons they have learnt at the School and go on to have a positive impact on the world around them.
