We are thrilled to bring together a line-up of some of Australia’s most popular and accomplished comedians and actors, including some of our very own OM superstars.

Enjoy a night of fun and laughter with friends as Michael Veitch (OM 1980) and Santo Cilauro (past MGS parent) from the D-Generation alongside Mike McLeish (OM 1992) star of Keating the Musical! are put through their paces by well-known entertainer and MC, Ian Cover OAM from the Coodabeen Champions.

About our Speakers

Michael Veitch (OM 1980)

Michael Veitch began his career writing and performing in television comedy for programs such as the D-Generation and Fast Forward, before working as a newspaper columnist and regular broadcaster for ABC radio and presenter of ABC Television’s, Sunday Arts.

Michael has written extensively on the topic of his lifelong interest - military history – as well as on marine exploration, and the history of the islands of Bass Strait.

In 2020, Michael was admitted into the RAAF Reserve, joining the History and Heritage Branch as a Community Liaison Officer with the rank of Squadron Leader, contributing to the telling of Australia’s Air Force story across several platforms including talks, writing, and appearances.

Santo Cilauro (past MGS parent)

Santo Cilauro is one of Melbourne’s best-known TV and movie screen personalities.

A founding member of Working Dog Productions, he has been involved in many of Australia’s most loved films such as The Castle, and The Dish as well as TV Shows including D-Generation, The Late Show, Frontline, and Utopia.

Santo has received multiple Australian Film Industry, Logie and Aria Awards, as well as a nomination for an International Emmy. Santo’s sons, Ben and Oscar graduated recently from MGS.

Mike McLeish (OM 1992)

Mike McLeish is best known to Australian audiences for his portrayal of Paul Keating in Casey Bennetto's Keating! The Musical. He has also appeared in other well-known stage performances including Shane Warne The Musical and Georgy Girl: The Seekers Musical.

Mike features in some of Australia’s favourite television series including Offspring, The Librarians, and Utopia and he has co-authored two books. He has served as Artistic Director of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Head Scriptwriter of the Helpmann Awards, and Director of Creative Development for Michael Cassell Group.

Ian Cover OAM returns as Master of Ceremonies

Ian Cover is a founding member of the iconic ABC radio team’s The Coodabeen Champions - one of Australia’s longest-standing sports-radio programs.

Alongside his role as a professional MC for countless corporate, charity, and sporting events, Ian is an author, sports news writer, and guest on many TV and radio programs.

This year, Ian and the other members of The Coodabeen Champions were awarded an Order of Australia Medal, OAM, for their service to the performing arts and to radio.
