Ways to Give

You are here

Through its philanthropic efforts the Melbourne Grammar School community plays an important role in preparing our students for the world.

For more than 150 years, our supporters have believed in our ability to offer academic rigour; to recruit dedicated and passionate educators; to develop leadership; and to create an environment that inspires the pursuit of excellence. Today our donors continue to affirm our values through their ongoing generosity.

There are many ways you can support us.

Gifts to the School's four pillars of philanthropy can be made by cheque.

Please download a copy of the giving form to include with your gift.

Alternatively, please include a letter with your name, address, phone number, email address, and donation amount, so we can show our gratitude for your support and also send you a tax deductible receipt. Please indicate which of our pillars of philanthropy you would like to support.

Please make your cheque payable to 'Melbourne Grammar School' and send to:

Melbourne Grammar School
355 St Kilda Road
Melbourne VIC 3004

If you would like to make a gift over the telephone, please contact Moya Barclay, Manager Stewardship & Donor Relations on +61 3 9865 7677. If we are not available, please leave a detailed message and we’ll be pleased to return your call.

It is a pleasure to meet our donors and we welcome you to The Lodge to meet with our Development Team.

To make a gift in person, please visit us during business hours - Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm.

A Gift in Will, known as a Bequest, provides the opportunity to support Melbourne Grammar School once your needs and those of your loved ones have been met.

Funds are usually bequeathed as:

  • A residual amount eg. a portion or a percentage of your estate; or
  • A specific dollar amount

 Benefits of making a Bequest:

  • You have the use of the asset during your lifetime
  • A Bequest is revocable and can be modified should your financial circumstances change

It is simple to include a gift to Melbourne Grammar School in your existing Will, by completing a Codicil form and having it witnessed by two people. The signed Codicil form is then retained with your Will.

If you have decided to make a gift to the School in your Will, please let us know by completing a Bequest Gift form. This form is a statement of your present intentions and can be modified in the future if your circumstances change.

Please return your completed Bequest Gift form to:

Moya Barclay
Manager Stewardship & Donor Relations

Melbourne Grammar School

Alternatively, you can return it via email to foundation@mgs.vic.edu.au

Once you have finalised your bequest to the School, you will be invited to join the Witherby Tower Society.

For further information on bequests or membership of the Witherby Tower Society, please contact Manager Stewardship & Donor Relations, Moya Barclay.

Creating a new scholarship or bursary is a fantastic way to support the diversity at Melbourne Grammar School.

There are two types of scholarships/bursaries that you, as a donor, can establish.

Fixed term scholarship or bursary

If you establish a fixed term scholarship, you will be providing annual support to the School for a set period of time. Fixed term scholarships are most often established to provide funding to support the full cost or a portion of the tuition and/or boarding fees. Minimum commitments of 4 to 6 years are required to ensure that students are supported through the course of their studies.

To discuss your ideas, please contact Josée Pinsonneault, Director of Development.

Endowed scholarship or bursary

Creating an endowment is a great way for you to make transformative gifts to Melbourne Grammar School. Endowing your donation provides an opportunity to have an impact in perpetuity for the benefit of students now and far into the future.

Existing scholarships

There are a number of scholarships that have already been established thanks to the support of our philanthropic partners.
