Creswick House is the boarding house for Wadhurst boys at Melbourne Grammar School. Home for up to fourteen boarders in Years 7 and 8, at Creswick the students live together in an extended family environment with the Head of House. Two residential assistants and two Gap students also make up the staff team.
Life within Creswick is specially structured to meet the particular needs of students in early adolescence. It is an ideal environment for boys fresh from primary school who gain many important skills and abilities before making the transition to the senior boarding houses.
Creswick is a self-contained Victorian terrace house within the boarding precinct. The boys share rooms, with three to four students per room. Each student has his own desk for private study and there are communal spaces for relaxing together.
Weekdays are busy, with classes, sports training, homework, excursions and games. On weekends the boys have Saturday competitive sport then often relax in front of an in-house DVD, or go to the movies, ten pin bowling, or activities in the city. They also make the most of their close proximity to the School’s swimming pool, gymnasium and tennis court complex.
