Scholarships and Bursaries

Melbourne Grammar School provides financial support for students who need and deserve it. Through our Scholarships and Bursaries Programme, young people from all walks of life who share the School's values, are given the opportunity to contribute to our diverse learning environment.

Students from an array of backgrounds attend Melbourne Grammar School, each bringing unique perspectives, talents and ideas with them. Scholarships and bursaries play an important role in building a diverse culture that celebrates achievement in a range of disciplines, and encourages every student to strive for excellence.

Our goal is to increase the number of students supported, and ultimately ensure that students who would most benefit from a Melbourne Grammar School education, are given the opportunity to do so. While scholarships recognise exceptional academic performance of new and current students, bursaries create opportunities for students who may otherwise be unable to attend the School, and assist current members of the School community who experience financial difficulty.

One-third of all boys from Year 7 to 12 receive scholarships or bursaries. This is made possible by the investment of donors to the Scholarships and Bursaries pillar, whose gifts fund 40 per cent of financial student support. The exceptional educational experience of all students would look very different without these boys.

With your support of scholarships and bursaries, the School will help to nurture the next generation of future leaders, a sound investment in Australia’s future.
