Melbourne Grammar School offers careers in both teaching and non-teaching disciplines. These can include educational support, administration, IT, catering, marketing, groundskeeping, property and finance.

To help streamline the application process and make it as easy as possible to navigate, we’ve outlined the steps below for how you can apply for a position at Melbourne Grammar School.

Step 1 – Select

 

Select a specific position to learn more about the opening. 
 

Step 2 – Learn more

 

Read through the advertisement and job description, taking the time to understand the requirements and your eligibility.


Step 3 – Apply

 

Submit your resume and cover letter electronically, ensuring both are specific to the position you apply for.

Make sure you have read and agreed to Melbourne Grammar School’s Employment Collection Policy before submitting your application.

Include the details of three referees to help speed the process up if you are successful in final stages. 
 

Step 4 – Confirmation

 

You will receive an email confirmation within minutes that your application has been received. You should receive an application outcome within a week of the advertisement’s closing date.
 

Step 5 – Shortlist interviews

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. The preferred candidates for teaching roles will be asked to alert their referees at this stage, and reference checks will be completed.
 

Step 6 – Final interviews

 

Final interview with the Head/s of Department/School or a Demonstration Lesson/Technical Test for teaching staff.

Preferred candidates who interview for roles in operational support areas will be asked to alert their referees at this stage, and reference checks will be completed.
 

Step 7 – Offer

 

After all pre-employment checks have been completed, the successful candidate will receive a verbal offer from Melbourne Grammar School. With their agreement, an offer of employment will be generated and sent.
 

Unsuccessful candidates

 

Melbourne Grammar School receives many high quality applications for both teaching and operational support roles. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified of their outcome via email after the advertising for a specific position closes.
