Educational Focus

We foster academic achievement through a broad and challenging curriculum that enables students to explore their own identities and strengths.

Melbourne Grammar School has a holistic approach to education that combines motivated staff and an extensive curriculum with world-class facilities and new technology. Within this environment students are able to take part in activities (both within the curriculum and through co-curricular opportunities) that develop their academic, social, spiritual, cultural and physical skills.

The School has a low student/teacher ratio (11.68 at the primary level and 9.02 at the secondary level), allowing quality academic teaching and commitment. This emphasis on the academic life is enhanced and balanced by a supportive pastoral care system and the valuing of social and spiritual development.

As students learn new skills and move towards intellectual independence, our approach helps them become confident, well-rounded individuals who are able to make the most of life’s opportunities.
