It can be hard for a parent having to say goodbye to their son and send them off to boarding school away from home, but Melbourne Grammar School’s community has a number of support networks set up to keep parents in close contact with their children.
Throughout the year, boarding staff maintain regular contact with all boarding parents regarding their son’s academic, social and sporting progress at School. Parents are encouraged to visit the School and become involved in a wide range of activities and programmes.
The Boarder Parents’ Network is an informal organisation that holds regular meetings, dinners and social gatherings to encourage communication and the involvement of parents of boarders, day students and staff. There is also a representative from the Boarder Parents’ Network on the Friends of Grammar committee each year.
