The Melbourne Grammar School Archives contains a unique collection of items that trace the history of the School from when it opened on the 7 April 1858 with 77 students to the thriving community it is today, catering to almost 1,800 students.

The items are stored in a purpose-built facility under the Lodge on the South Yarra campus, and are rotated on a regular basis to be viewed by the School community in the Gallery, located in the East Wing of the Lodge. These displays depict some of the most significant events in the life of the School over the past 150 years. Visits to the Gallery are welcomed but do require an appointment.

We are currently working on digitising the archives and would love to know about any memorabilia or documents you might have that could help complete our collection. Please contact us with any information for our Archives or enquiries about the extensive history of the School.
