Cordner-Eggleston Cup Lunch 2021- CANCELLED

Due to COVID-19 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne, this lunch unfortunately has had to be cancelled. The Cordner-Eggleston Cup football match has been rescheduled to Thursday 19 August 2021. 

 

Join us for a two-course lunch at The Views with a magnificent outlook across the bay, and hear from our guest speaker AFL Journalist and Commentator, Samantha Lane.

It is an 8 minute walk to Flack Park where the match will be played. Proceedings will finish at 1.30pm to allow guests enough time to arrive and watch the boys run out.Hosted by Melbourne Grammar School, you are invited to a pre-match lunch which is a reunion for the 1st XVIII who played in 1951, 1961, 1971, 1981, 1991, 2001 and 2011, from both Melbourne Grammar School and Scotch College, along with the parents of the 2021 1st XVIII.

Players from the 1st XVIIIs in 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2010 who missed the lunch in 2020 are also welcome.

Guest Speaker | Samantha Lane

Sam Lane is an award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster. 

Covering her first AFL season in 2001 - trailblazing in print media, on radio and television - Sam has spearheaded coverage of the AFL Women's league on Channel 7 telecasts and led significant change to the narrative of women’s sport with her book, ROAR - the stories behind AFLW, a movement bigger than sport.

She is an influential spokesperson for women’s sport, women in media and gender equity, in Australia and abroad.

Sam sits on the Australian Institute of Sport's Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Advisory Committee and is the presenter and co-producer of the Richmond Football Club’s top-rating Australian sports podcast The Originals. She has reported from three Olympic Games, three Commonwealth Games and the Tour de France in print and on television.

We are honoured to welcome Sam as the keynote speaker at the 2021 Cordner-Eggleston Cup pre-match lunch.
